"Blue Distances", Wishbone’s first full-length album since 2020’s experimental "French Of The Bird" and its corresponding short animated film, is a 10-track return to her folky, songwriting roots.

Recorded in an un-insulated room at a legendary musician house in Amherst imbued with the influence of the decades of artists who dwelled there before, the songs of this album are contrastingly stripped-down and for the first time primarily feature acoustic guitar.
Lyrically it expands on a collection of poetry she wrote and released in 2023, mining themes of lost feelings, solitary travel and touring with bands, meditation, and vignettes of the Western MA music scene.

Wishbone pays humble musical tribute and lyrical acknowledgement to various artists whose work affected her over the course of the album’s gestation, including Paul Westerberg, D Boon, Nastassja Martin, Georgia O’Keefe, Nick Drake, Adrianne Lenker, Lucinda Williams, and the big-hearted working musicians and visual artists met living at home and on the road.
